The College has modern, well equipped laboratories, workshops, studios and classrooms to cater for our wide range of courses.
We have one of the biggest college workshop facilities in the country. The workshops all comply with both EAL and City & Guilds practical examination requirements.
Carpentry and Joinery workshops: These have been designed to simulate an on site working environment. The working areas consist of four open workshops, three of these contain benches with one vice attached at each end and the other one contains the following machinery used to perform different tasks depending on the project in hand: Cross Cut Saw, Combination planner, Band saw, Spindle moulders, Flat bed grinders, Bench router, Mortise, Grinding wheel, Tooth cutting machine, Saw set, Drill press, Dovetail machine, Bobbin sander, Overhand planner, Tenoner machine, Rip Saw, Blade welder, Straight knife grinder etc.
Dental/Science laboratories: These spacious areas are fully equipped with modern equipment and materials to support the study of dental radiology and dental imaging, fixed prosthodontics, modern dental technology techniques and scientific principles.
Electrical and security workshops: These have been designed to simulate the actual working environments in which electrical contractors work. They comprise of brick, breeze block and timber built cubicles. These workshops also provide open spaces where portable fabrication equipment can be used.
Electrical laboratory: This specialised laboratory has the full range of single and 3 phase machines, high and low pressure discharge lighting and other related equipment. The testing and inspection rigs for these courses plus the 2391 assessments are also situated in this area.
Security installation workshops: This workshop has 14 timber framed cubicles. These allow students to install a wide range of security devices as either part of a stand alone or multiplex system. This workshop also facilitates the CCTV course.
Plumbing workshops: These have been designed to simulate the actual working environments in which plumbing contractors work. They comprise of brick, breeze block and timber built cubicles. These workshops also provide open spaces where portable fabrication equipment can be used.
Motorcycle workshops: Strong links with the motorcycle industry ensure Lambeth College students work with the latest state of the art equipment in out purpose-built workshops in Vauxhall. We offer individual workstations complete with hydraulic bike lift, work benches and extensive tool kits for each student. Specialist technicians dedicate to the motorcycle workshop are also on call at al times.
